Monteriggioni
Almost unchanged from the 13th century.
Monteriggioni is one of the most unique and fascinating medieval villages in Europe, where people even today still live, work, celebrate and create.
It has survived the wars of the past and of the present, originally an impregnable fortress and now a splendid historic example of what was. One of the most intriguing places in Tuscany, with its 14 towers and 500 metres of ancient wall, as it was in the times of Dante Alighieri.
