At the Tourist Information Office within the castle walls of Monteriggioni, located in Piazza Roma our staff is ready to welcome you and help you find the right holiday solutions and any other information you could need on the area.
The guided tour of the castle is considered of great interest especially to student groups as the castle represents an uncontaminated corner of the middle ages, and helps to better understand the people and times of that period in history. Also of interest are the guided tours conducted by our staff in medieval costume, representing various characters of the time to help bring to life the various episodes that are part of the castle's history.
A variety of tourist material is available to you at our offices, guide books, maps, gadgets, both on sale or handouts, the proceeds are used by the Pro Loco of Monteriggioni to finance cultural and promotional activities for the area.

Museums and sightseeing
In the building in Piazza Roma, you can find the Multimedia Museum of the area, where you can get (using multimedia equipment in four languages) an insight into the history of Monteriggioni from its Etruscan origins, traces of which are seen at the archeological site at Campassini and the necropolis of the Casone, to its medieval period. The visitor can, in a few short steps, follow the town's history through time.
A walk along the city walls is a spectacular way of seeing the view across this unique and beautiful territory, something similar to what the medieval soldiers on guard would see as they walked around the walls on guard duty to defend the garrison and keep a watch out for the enemy.

Should you wish to visit the castle and enjoy our guided tours of the territory, we have staff on hand to welcome your group and guide you through your discovery of Monteriggioni, and should you require it, with guides dressed in medieval costume.
